Hospital Drive is an on-line journal launched by the University of Virginia School of Medicine in the fall of 2006, to encourage original creative work that examines themes of health, illness, and healing.
 

We would like to express our gratitude to all who have helped support this journal in its genesis from idea to reality. Particular support and assistance has come from the Dean's Office of the University of Virginia School of Medicine and constituent groups in the Office of Faculty Development and the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Humanities.

Hospital Drive has also been nurtured and hosted by the Scholars' Lab of the University of Virginia Library, through the assistance of Bradley Daigle, Cindy Speer Maisannes and Thornton Staples.

Our banner image, as well as the images for the cover of Issue Zero, Contact Us, and the current page, were taken by Juliet Trail. Betsy Johnson Whitten, Arts Program Consultant, helped select images from the hospital's collection for use in Issue Zero.
